Final selection of pics

This is our last update for the Chalet Iskar build diary and we include a final selection of exterior and interior pictures showcasing this impressive development.

We are extremely proud of Chalet Iskar, and we would like to thank all our Chalet Iskar customers and wish them well in their new apartments. We also thank you, for viewing these pages and sharing in our journey.

Our aim for these pages was simple, to ensure that our clients were well informed and had full visibility of their investment as it progressed. We will continue to provide a similar level of service with all our future developments.

June 19th 2008

A few photos this month that show the finer details we have incorporated into Chalet Iskar. The curtain rails have been individually chosen and sourced by Milan, our Bulgarian architect. We have included a picture of one of the built in wardrobes; brilliant storage that also looks great. There is a view taken from one of the penthouses looking down the valley towards Samokov and lastly, one of my favourites, a photograph showing the brilliant attention to detail on the wooden balconies.

June 7th 2008

Lots of work carried out in the garage and ski lockers over the last few weeks and above ground, several more apartments are now completed. We've focused on apartment 6 this week and as you can see from the pictures, it's spacious, light and well laid out. It also has a fantastic view from the bedroom balcony at the front of the building; what a great way to wake up!

April 24th 2008

The studio apartment on the second floor, 5a was completed early this week and it's practical, neat layout works really well. In the basement, the large car park is close to being finished and the ski lockers at the front of the building are being worked on.

April 15th 2008

After a fresh coat of gleaming white paint, Chalet Iskar looks stunning set against the backdrop of the pine forests as you look over towards Borovets. The wooden balconies are complete and are set off well by the dark grey colour of the building's corners.The stone cladding has been fitted to the front wall and the builders are beginning to clear away and tidy up the site. Moving inside, apartment 10 is now complete and fully furnished and has a real feeling of luxury. The black leather sofas and chairs are perfectly matched by the solid oak furniture.

March 27th 2008

Chalet Iskar is almost complete. Now that the outside temperature has warmed a little, work has begun once more on finishing the exterior. All balconies are finished, and some final work is being done on the natural stone facade. The walls are ready for their final coat of paint. Inside, the apartments continue to be finished with some floor polishing and sealing still to do. The furniture company has been extremely busy, delivering the remaining luxury furniture packs

March 20th 2008

The build is almost complete, so this week we've focused on some of the beautiful furniture in one of the finished apartments. The fully fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms are a credit to our team of joiners and match the bedroom furniture perfectly. In the living area, the black leather chairs and sofas are a modern, classic design and really complement the fresh look of the apartment. For extra practicality and to allow extra friends and family to visit, the sofa opens out into a comfortable double bed. As an added bonus this week, we've included a stunning photograph of nearby Lake Iskar, taken last week from the shore by the new wakeboard & waterski club.

March 12th 2008

Moving ever closer to completion, this week the work has focused on finishing the interior of the top floor duplex apartments. The solid wooden steps have been fitted to the spiral staircase in apartment 10, whilst the wooden flooring throughout is ready for polishing. Elsewhere, the electricians have been busy doing the last fix, installing light fittings and plug sockets. On the exterior, the weather has warmed up and allowed the completion of the stone cladding, which now awaits one final area to be grouted.

March 3rd 2008

Our team have been hard at work finishing the internal common areas of Chalet Iskar this week. The walls have had an initial coat of paint whilst the carpenters have been adding the wooden detail to the balconies and handrails around the central staircase. The spacious duplex, apartment 10, is awaiting furniture and apartments 11 and 12 need a final coat of paint prior to the floor being polished. Outside, work has begun on laying the paving for the garage entrance.

February 28th 2008

The sun has shone down on Beli Iskar this week and the warmer temperature has allowed work to begin once more on the exterior. More balcony detailing has been added and the stone masons have continued with the riven stone cladding. A waterproof membrane has been laid on top of the ski lockers and garage roof whilst inside, the remaining apartments are coming to completion. One of our customers took a fantastic photo of the early morning sunshine looking over towards Borovets - what a great way to start your day!

February 18th 2008

Several more of our very happy and excited customers took ownership of their newly completed properties last week. All apartments on the eastern side of the building, with the exception of the luxurious duplex, are now finished. Work is continuing on the three top floor apartments and it's easy to see how spacious and well appointed they are. Included this week is a close up of the wooden balcony detail, just adding to that 'Alpine' look.

February 10th 2008

A momentous occasion this week; the first apartment in Chalet Iskar was completed and officially handed over to its new owners. The quality of finish is absolutely first rate and is a credit to the Zelnik craftsmen who have worked extremely hard to achieve this milestone. The smooth, clean wooden flooring and cosy woodburner lend a real air of authentic 'ski chalet' feeling. The high specification kitchen units, granite worktops and smart stainless steel appliances bring the look right up to date. Elsewhere on the build, all other apartments on the east side are nearing completion and the balconies are having the final detailing added. The extremely cold and snowy weather, although good for wintersports, has meant that the final coat of paint on the exterior has been delayed slightly.

February 3rd 2008

Two of Zelnik's Directors made a whistle-stop tour of the Chalet Iskar site this week and were very impressed with the progress being made. The installation of the solid wood flooring continues to go well, adding to the character of the building. Work on AP7 is well underway with the installation of the kitchen units, painting of the walls and ceilings, construction of bedroom wardrobes and the bathroom is almost finished. AP1 has seen the painting of the walls and ceilings, also work has started on the wooden flooring. Generally, the site was a hive of activity with finishing work progressing throughout the building at a steady rate!

January 21st 2008

Another exciting set of build photographs this week, our first installed wood burner. Imagine relaxing after a hard days skiing, feet up in front of the roaring wood burner with a glass or two of red. Sheer bliss! Elsewhere, the plasterers have been hard at work finishing and painting the internal walls. The metal structure of the spiral staircases has been built in the top floor duplexes. Downstairs on the ground floor apartments, work has begun on the solid wooden flooring. Outside, the balconies are almost complete, the guttering finished and scaffolding has been dismantled.

January 13th 2008

Another week brings us ever closer to the completion of Chalet Iskar. As you can see, work is almost finished on the balconies and upon taking a closer look, you'll notice that the light well has been completed at the front of the building. The sanitary ware and boilers are being installed in the bathrooms on the upper floors whilst the tiling of the common areas has started this week.

Happy New Year and welcome to the first build report of 2008!

There has been some extreme weather all over Bulgaria in the past week. Unprecedented snow falls and extreme low temperatures of minus 20 have been recorded in Beli Iskar. Work has obviously concentrated on the interior and huge progress has been made on the duplex apartments on the top floor. All interior doors are now fitted and the wood burners have been delivered and are waiting installation.
